Using the same performant and widely-tested core modules implementing the various protocols (FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Google Docs, Cloudfiles & S3), putting a native graphical user interface for Windows on top. Cyberduck for Windows boasts the same features as its OS X counterpart and will be developed in parallel from now on.

Cyberduck for Windows integrates with core system technologies on the Windows Platform, making it a first class citizen and the tool of choice for your FTP and cloud depoyment needs.

We are motivated by tweets like “It’s sad that no Windows FTP client even comes close to Cyberduck’s usability.” [1] or a question on superuser.com that says “Do you know of a Windows app that’s similar to Cyberduck?” [2].

We strongly urge to bring the same quality to Windows and need your help in testing all that new code. Please signup for the private beta to be released really soon.

As of changeset 6766 the new C# (.NET) source of Cyberduck for Windows is available in the public source repository (GPL licensed). The ongoing development process will be open.

Cyberduck 4 for Windows will be available for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 in English, čeština, Nederlands, Suomi, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, 日本語, 한국어, Norsk, Slovenčina, Español, Português (do Brasil), Português (Europeu), 中文 (简体), 正體中文 (繁體), Русский, Svenska, Dansk, Język Polski, Magyar, Bahasa Indonesia, Català, Cymraeg, ภาษาไทย, Türkçe, Ivrit, Latviešu Valoda, Ελληνικά, Cрпски, ქართული ენა, Slovenščina & Română.

• Browse your Google Storage account by opening a new connection with Cyberduck.
• Upload the file you want to share and select File → Info.
• Choose the Permissions tab to edit the access control list (ACL) of the file.
• Choose to add a grant for an Email Address from the ACL tool menu.
• Enter the email address registered with Google of the person you want to grant access to the file. Choose READ for the permission drop-down menu.
  

• Copy the Signed URL from the Google Storage tab in the Info window starting with https://sandbox.google.com/storage/ and share it with the person. The link will redirect to the file only after the user has successfully logged in to their Google Account and is listed in the ACL you have just edited.

• Toggle the versioning status using File → Info → S3
• Display previous versions and deleted files in the browser using View → Show Hidden Files. Past revisions are displayed in a grey text colour and can be downloaded or permanently deleted like regular files.
• Revert files to a previous version using File → Revert or the Browser context menu.
• Optionally enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Delete

• It allows you to download documents to various export formats.
• Uploads documents to your Google Docs account for storage or choose to convert documents to Google Docs format.
• Optionally convert images to Google Docs text document using Optical Character Recognition (OCR).

Read more about Google Docs support in the Wiki. Note that this is a preliminary feature currently in development and might still have some quirks. Please report them to the issue tracker.

The help section will be edited with updated instructions soon altough the configuration should be straightforward. In the meantime refer to the official Amazon documentation on streaming distributions.

It probably has never been easier to distribute a video in the CDN for streaming with a click of a button.

The Command-K shortcut and the edit toolbar button will always point to the application set as the default application in the Finder for a given file type. A default editor application can be choosen in the Preferences and set to override the default application that would be used when double clicking the file of a given type in the Finder.

The new cat will be let out of the bag next month earlier than anticipated. Cyberduck is getting ready. Lot of work has been put into Snow Leopard compatibility recently with a shift to Rococoa instead of the deprecated bindings used before. Thanks to Duncan McGregor and the Rococoa community for their work which serves as the new solid foundation for Cyberduck to build upon.

Please test the latest beta release to help make the transition as smooth as possible. Be sure to report any rough edges you may find.

The beta currently has the following limitations:

• No MobileMe bookmark synchronization when running as 64bit application. Use the Finder Info panel to select Open in 32-bit mode for the Cyberduck.app application bundle if you need this feature.
• No AppleScript support beside basic Open URL events from third party applications like web browsers.
• No Dashboard Widget whatsoever as this uses the AppleScript interface.

The current beta requires an Intel processor and Mac OS X 10.5 or later. Progress is tracked in ticket #3039.

• If you want to distribute content using BitTorrent, the Info window now displays the URL for the selected file.
• Temporary publicly accessible URLs are displayed in the Info window also in the S3 section. This allows to give URLs to third parties to access content that is generally not accessible from anonymous users.
• Access Logging can be configured for both S3 and CloudFront. Log files are stored under logs/ the S3 bucket
• To control caching, a Cache-Control header can be configured for files. This allows you to minimize access costs for static content.
