Shimshal
December 2nd, 2006Shimshal is the most remote settlement in Pakistan I was told. Only a few years ago a jeep track to the village was finished after several years of work – a winding lane between rugged mountains and the riverbed. This panorama I have taken about half way between the Karakoram Highway and Shimshal, where a glacier borders the road.

Glad to see you finally made it to Pakistan. The photo looks spectacular. Did you encounter any negativity to foreigners as you passed through the North?
By the way, your comment security code is ridiculously over-complicated! Hah.

No, northern pakistan is one of the most friendly parts of the world I have visited yet. Great hospitality 🙂
